4 Major Discourses and etc.

What I have done so far is to prepare an excel sheet to work out the possible discourses by permutation of the elements in four quadrants. One form of its appearance is as below:

This indicates some of my conventions used in this formulation too. M1 has its own identification number for Master Discourse, which means it has 5 other categories: M2, M3, M4, M5, and M6, each with S1 as its Agent.

According to my tabulation, the blue-colored numeral is the serial number of the discourse in concern. Say Master Discourse 1, M1, and after M6, the next category begins with University Discourse, with U1 being the major and taking number 7. University Discourse also feeds 5 other categories such as U2, U3, U4, U5, and U6, so the 13th one will become the Analyst Discourse major, A1. Hence, the same notation in Hysteric Discourse and its derivatives. This brings the total number of conversations to 24.

The possibilities are tabulated above for the discourses that need to be further refined in their interpretations.

Many discourses, many interpretations...

On the 17th of July, or maybe a few days before, I was starting to write an analysis of the Let Her Cry movie. Actually, this date is the milestone kept in my mind as the day I sent a preliminary draft of ideas I put together in a very unorganized manner to Mahesh and Hashitha by email.

Though I began by reviewing Let Her Cry, my objectives shifted dramatically by the middle of the writing process; in fact, the middle of the thinking process. At one point, I realized something I had kept frozen in developing further somewhere in my study of Lacanian discourses.

So I kept my writing frozen on Let Her Cry and started to formulate my previous findings on Lacanian discourse analysis into a more elaborate position by this time.
This wasn’t an arbitrary or random inspiration, but having a real amusement triggered by discourse structure analytics by someone else’s work.
